OUR CORE VALUES

AiAfrica is a non-profit organization launched on 30th April 2024 to train Africans in AI technologies, empowering governments, businesses, youth, educational institutions, artisans, and entrepreneurs to lead in the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions (4IR & 5IR).

The initiative is sponsored by the African Diaspora Central Bank (ADCB) under the Eco-6 Economic Stimulus Package, in collaboration with the Vanuatu Trade Commission–Ghana, and is implemented by Knowledge Web Center Ghana Limited.

With a target to train 11 million Africans across all 54 countries by 2028, AiAfrica has already trained 250,000 individuals across nine countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, Eswatini, Vanuatu, South Africa, Zambia, Gambia, and Botswana. Strategic collaborations include the training of 2 million Nigerians in partnership with the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES), Imo State, and 3 million Rwandans through the Ministry of Innovation and ICT.

David King Boison (Ph.D.)

Dr. Dr. David King Boison is a distinguished expert in artificial intelligence, maritime logistics, and supply chain management with over 20 years of multidisciplinary experience spanning academia, industry, and policy. He holds two doctoral degrees: a PhD in Ports Operations and Logistics from IIC University of Technology in Cambodia, where he specialized in Knapsack Optimization, Simulation Modeling, and Scenario Analysis; and a PhD in Business Administration from Cass Business School in France, focusing on simulation and optimization models in maritime supply chains. Additionally, he earned two Master’s degrees with distinction—in Management Information Systems and Supply Chain Management—and a First Class Honours degree in Accounting. As the Chief Executive Officer of Knowledge Web Center–Ghana, Dr. Boison leads a pioneering consultancy and research institute dedicated to advancing AI, data analytics, and sustainable development across Africa’s blue economy and digital sectors. His visionary leadership drives cutting-edge research and capacity building, helping governments, businesses, and educational institutions leverage emerging technologies for inclusive economic growth.

Dr. Boison’s academic career includes senior lecturing and leadership roles at Ghana Communication Technology University, where he headed the Department of Procurement, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management. He has also served as an adjunct lecturer at Methodist University College, delivering courses on lean operations, global supply chains, risk management, and quantitative analytics. He has mentored hundreds of students, overseeing undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral theses. A major milestone in Dr. Boison’s professional journey was his role as IT Manager at Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), where he conceptualized and led the implementation of the e-Port system—the foundation of Ghana’s paperless port platform. This innovation transformed port operations by digitizing processes, reducing paperwork, and enhancing transparency and efficiency. He also spearheaded projects including ERP deployment, electronic payment systems, terminal operating systems, and vessel tracking technologies, achieving significant operational improvements and cost savings.

Currently, Dr. Boison is the Lead Consultant for the AiAfrica Project, a flagship initiative sponsored by the African Diaspora Central Bank (ADCB) and the Vanuatu Trade Commission–Ghana, aimed at training 11 million Africans by 2028 in AI, machine learning, deep learning, and prompt engineering. He also leads the implementation of the AKL Lumi digital currency project, which supports financial inclusion and economic modernization across the continent. An accomplished researcher, Dr. Boison has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on AI applications, blockchain adoption, maritime digitization, and supply chain optimization. His policy articles appear in leading online platforms such as MyJoyOnline and Business and Financial Times, where he addresses digital transformation, maritime governance, and economic development.

Dr. Boison is also a creator of specialized AI chatbots tailored for education, agriculture, robotics, and healthcare. These include ScholarWriteAI for academic support; Robotics with Python; Prof DKB AI Prompt Engineer; Prof DKB Agric Assistant; and Prof DKB AI Holistic Health, reflecting his commitment to applying AI for real-world solutions. He chairs ethics committees at Ghana’s National Health Insurance Authority and the Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders, underscoring his dedication to governance and research integrity. Internationally recognized, Dr. Boison received the Best Reviewer award at the 23rd Academy of African Business Development Conference in London in 2023. Through his integrated expertise, visionary leadership, and innovative approach, Dr. David King Boison is driving Africa’s digital and industrial transformation, positioning the continent as a leader in the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions.

Prof Nelson Alino (PhD)

Prof. Iddrisu Awudu is a core member of the AiAfrica top management team and serves as a Senior Fellow at the AiAfrica Researchers Institute. Recognized as an AI expert in the field of energy and sustainability, Prof. Awudu leads pioneering research that integrates artificial intelligence with applied energy, renewable systems, and sustainable supply chains—driving the development of advanced biofuel and ethanol solutions across Africa.

With an outstanding academic background—including a Ph.D. in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from North Dakota State University and a faculty position at Quinnipiac University—Prof. Awudu has published extensively in leading international journals such as Applied Energy and Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews. His research bridges academic rigor and real-world impact, using AI to optimize energy systems and supply chain efficiency.

Beyond academia, Prof. Awudu has made significant contributions to industry, working with major global organizations like Nokia/Navteq and Nestlé, and delivering consultancy and training across the USA, UK, and Ghana. As a two-time Carnegie African Diaspora Fellow, he is dedicated to building Africa’s research capacity, nurturing industry partnerships, and empowering the next generation of innovators through the AiAfrica initiative.

Prof. Awudu’s expertise in AI and sustainable energy positions him at the forefront of Africa’s transition toward a resilient, technology-driven, and low-carbon future.

Prof. Nelson Alino is a key member of the AiAfrica top management team and serves as the Lead Researcher for Healthcare Management in the AiAfrica Lab. As Council Chairman of the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES), Umuagwo, Imo State, Prof. Alino is celebrated for his leadership in research, innovation, and institutional governance within Nigeria’s higher education sector.

With a robust academic foundation, she holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from IIC University of Technology, where her research focused on the impact of energy consumption, foreign direct investment, and institutional quality on economic growth in Sub-Saharan Africa. Prof. Amevi Acakpovi is a leading scholar and accomplished engineer in the field of Electrical and Energy Systems Engineering. As Acting Vice-Chancellor of Accra Technical University, Prof. Acakpovi is widely recognized for his visionary leadership, driving innovation in technical education and research. Mr. Sylvester Vuvor, is an entrepreneur, investor, farmer and currently serves as the General Partner at Olympian Equity Partners. He has previously served as the Managing Director of Expert Collateral & Monitoring Limited. He is a result driven Business Development and Finance professional with a global perspective. Prior to Expert Collateral & Monitoring Limited, He worked at the Treasury Department of Merchant Bank Ghana Limited now UMB Bank; and serves on numerous boards including Greenshield Resources Limited, and SmileherosLimited. Sylvester received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting Option) from University of Ghana and a Masters in Business Administration in Business Strategy from Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden. He is a co-author of the book entitled: “The Challenges facing Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Obtaining Credit in Ghana.

Prof. Raphael Nyarkotey Obu is a Distinguished Ghanaian Naturopath, academic, writer, naturopathic Pedagogy expert and Lawyer, a Chartered Health Economist (Ch.HE), and one of Africa’s most influential voices in Traditional, Complementary, and Alternative Medicine (TCAM). He is widely celebrated as the first naturopath in Africa to be called to the Bar, successfully blending natural medicine, law, and public health policy in a way that is transforming healthcare on the continent. He is the President of Nyarkotey University College of Holistic Medicine & Technology, Ghana’s first institution dedicated solely to naturopathic and holistic medical education. As a Chartered Management Consultant and public policy advocate, Prof. Obu develops innovative frameworks for integrating natural therapies into national health systems. Called to the Gambia Bar in 2024, he is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Superior Courts of The Gambia, and Legal Director of the Traditional Healers Association of The Gambia (TRAHASS). Prof. Nyarkotey is using his legal background to protect natural medicine practitioners in Africa.

Prof. Obu serves as the African Representative for Naturopathic Education at the Paris Graduate School, France, where he is also a Visiting Naturopathic Scholar. Kwadwo Boateng (P.h.D)

Dr. Kwadwo Boateng is an accomplished Principal Consultant, Senior Fellow, Lead Researcher, and AiAfrica Expert Trainer with over 18 years of interdisciplinary experience spanning environmental and social risk management, sustainable finance, and agricultural engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Management (Finance) from Bangalore University, complemented by advanced degrees in Financial Management and Agricultural Engineering. Dr. Boateng currently leads ESG assessments and capacity-building initiatives across West Africa at MDPI, Ghana, while founding Mariboat Micro-credit Enterprise to promote financial inclusion through sustainable, ESG-aligned microfinance products.

A prolific academic and policy researcher, he has authored more than 14 peer-reviewed articles focusing on banking risk, digital finance, and MSME economic development, alongside a book on investment guidelines in Ghana. Prof. Anthony Afful-Dadzie (P.h.D)

Senior Fellow and Lead Consultant Systems Engineering and Fintech & Agriculture Engineering on the AiAfrica Project.

Prof. Anthony Afful-Dadzie is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Operations and Management Information Systems at the University of Ghana Business School. He holds a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering as well as an M.A. in Economics from The Ohio State University. He also holds an MPhil degree in Industrial Systems, Manufacturing, and Management from University of Cambridge. He is the recipient of the 2019 Queen Elizabeth Scholarship-Advanced Scholars Program serving as a fellow at Carleton University, Canada. Anthony has also thrice (2015, 2017, and 2022) served as a host to fellows from Quinnipiac University, and College of Charleston from USA on the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program.

Prof. Anthony Afful-Dadzie’s research interest spans the areas of management science, operations research and decision science with a special focus on the development of techniques for evaluation and analysis of operational decisions and decision support systems that support business processes and public sector organizations. He has published extensively in the areas of energy policy and planning, multi-criteria decision-making, supply chain management, data analytics, and information systems. Anthony has published in journals including Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Applied Energy, Journal of Quality Technology, Energy Economics, Energy, Management Decision, and Government Information Quarterly.

Dr. Edem Nyadudzi is a distinguished customs expert and consultant, currently leading Mede 3 Consulting, the advisory firm he founded after an illustrious 34-year career with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). A trusted authority in customs administration, Dr. Nyadudzi’s legacy is built on decades of frontline experience, visionary leadership, and a proven ability to drive institutional transformation.

Beginning his journey in August 1988 as a young customs officer at the Ghana-Ivorian border in Osei-Kojokrom, Dr. Nyadudzi swiftly rose through the ranks, serving at critical customs posts across the country—including key assignments at land borders, the Kotoka International Airport, and the seaports of Takoradi and Tema. His career path spanned essential roles such as preventive officer, excise officer to timber firms, warehousing officer, courier supervisor, tax examiner, and officer in charge of public warehouses.

Dr. Nyadudzi’s expertise in international goods classification and valuation has been sought after by both the GRA and leading corporate organizations. He is renowned for his capacity to demystify complex customs procedures, delivering training and capacity-building programs that have shaped the skills of customs professionals and private sector actors alike. As a consultant, he continues to advise the GRA, providing strategic guidance on compliance and classification.

Between 2009 and 2014, Dr. Nyadudzi was seconded to Inspection and Control Services (ICS) as a classification officer, returning later to serve as a compliance officer in Tema, where he uncovered substantial tax discrepancies. His pivotal role in establishing the Customs Technical Services Bureau (CTSB) at the Customs Headquarters in Accra in 2015 marked a significant milestone—he was instrumental in forming and strengthening the Classification Committee of Ghana Customs and mentoring a new generation of officers.

Internationally, Dr. Nyadudzi’s expertise has had broad reach. He contributed to the 55th Session of the World Customs Organization Harmonized System Committee in Brussels, assisting in the review and revision of the global Harmonized System. He has been an active member of Ghana’s National Tariff Committee, which developed the 2024 ECOWAS Common External Tariff.

A strong advocate for academic excellence, Dr. Nyadudzi played a leading role in developing the customs curriculum at the University of Cape Coast, designing innovative M.Sc. and M.Com. programs in Customs Administration. He continues to share his experience as an adjunct lecturer, shaping future leaders in customs management.

Dr. Nyadudzi’s outstanding service has earned him numerous accolades, including the KIA Sector Commander’s Meritorious Award, multiple Best Officer distinctions, and recognition as a Top 100 Achiever by Ghana Communication Technology University Alumni. His career is a testament to dedication, integrity, and a lifelong commitment to advancing customs excellence in Ghana and beyond.

Dr. Frances Jemimah Anabia-Tiah Manu (Mrs.) is a highly respected logistics, supply chain, and maritime governance specialist, whose career spans over 15 years across Ghana’s public and private sectors, academia, and international industry engagements. With deep expertise in ISO systems integration, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence, she has established herself as a leader in driving innovation and setting standards for best practice in the maritime and logistics industry.

Dr. Manu holds a PhD in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from IIC University of Technology, Cambodia, demonstrating her commitment to academic excellence and research-driven solutions. Her academic background also includes an MA in Ports and Shipping Administration from the Regional Maritime University, Ghana, an MSc in Supply Chain Management from Coventry University, UK, an Executive Mini-MBA in Strategic Management from Accra Business School, and a BA in Integrated Development Studies from the University for Development Studies, Ghana. This diverse educational foundation has enabled her to approach sector challenges from multiple angles, blending strategic insight with practical expertise.

Currently, Dr. Manu serves as the ISO Coordinator at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), where she oversees the implementation and maintenance of ISO management systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency across Ghana’s critical maritime infrastructure. Her role also extends to the national level, where she is an active committee member on the National Technical Committee on Conformity Assessment (CASCO), contributing to the development and harmonization of standards that underpin quality and safety in Ghanaian industries.

Throughout her career, Dr. Manu has demonstrated a strong passion for capacity building and mentorship. She has served as an adjunct lecturer at Ghana Telecom University College and as an academic mentor for the Safety Campaign Ghana Mentorship Programme. As a guest lecturer and certified UNCTAD TrainForTrade Trainer in Port Management Systems, she has provided professional training and guidance to port managers, logistics professionals, and industry stakeholders across Africa, helping to raise the bar for sector competencies and leadership.

Dr. Manu’s research and thought leadership have had a tangible impact on policy and practice. She has authored a series of influential white papers published on MyJoyOnline, covering topics such as maritime decarbonization, ISO management system adoption, port infrastructure development, digital-driven continuous improvement, and integrated risk and compliance management. Her peer-reviewed work includes analysis of the impact of artificial intelligence on manufacturing resource efficiency in West Africa.

Her professional qualifications are robust and internationally recognized. Dr. Manu is a certified Lead Auditor and Implementer for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO/IEC 27001; she also holds the NEBOSH International General Certificate and is a Certified Crisis Management Professional. Her memberships include the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (TechIOSH), further underscoring her commitment to excellence in safety and standards.

Dr. Manu’s influence extends beyond Ghana, as she regularly participates in major industry events and conferences, such as those organized by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), International Association of Ports and Harbours (IAPH), and Port Management Association of West and Central Africa (PMAWCA). Prof. Ebenezer Malcalm

Prof. Ebenezer Malcalm is the Acting Pro Vice Chancellor and the Dean of School of Graduate Studies and Research at Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU). Professor Malcalm was the former Director of Centre for Online Learning and Teaching (COLT) at GCTU. He was also the founding Pro Vice Chancellor of Laweh Open University College, the first Open University in Ghana.

Professor. Malcalm is a trained Instructional Designer and Technologist, Communication and Development expert and demographer. He has multidisciplinary background in E-learning, curriculum and instruction, academic programing, research, strategic planning, organizational development, programme development, management, monitoring and evaluations.

Professor. Malcalm is an experienced E-learning Consultant, Professional Development Consultant, Researcher, Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant, Communication and Development Consultant and Leadership expert. Prior to his graduate studies, he spent many years as student and youth leader, where he served as the General Secretary and National President respectively for the Ghana United Nations Student and Youth Association (GUNSA).

Professor. Malcalm established Rescue Mission Ghana, a sustainable development NGO, where he served as its first Chief Executive Director. He later set up Sustainable Development Training Centre, a consultancy wing of Rescue Mission Ghana. Professor. Malcalm also served as Senior Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator at World Education Ghana and the Coordinator of GUNSA Family Life Education Project. Prof. Malcalm was the immediate Chairman of the Governing Council of Peki College of Education. Ghana.

Since the year 1999, Prof. Malcalm consulted for international organizations such as, USAID, International Youth and Student Movement for the United Nations, (ISMUN), Center for Population Activities (CEDPA), International Institute for Communication and Development (IICD) British Council, Global Teenager Foundation, (GTF) International Education and Resource Network (IEARN), Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) Star Ghana, Ghana Health Services, Jhpiego Ghana among others

Prior joining GCTU, Prof. Malcalm was Pro Vice Chancellor of Laweh Open University College, Senior Lecturer at the School of Graduate Studies and Coordinator of Distance Learning School at University of Professional Studies, Accra. He also worked with American Institute of Research and African American Studies Department at Ohio University, USA. He also facilitated online courses at Ohio University, USA.

About his educational background, Professor. Malcalm obtained a Bachelor degree in Publishing Studies at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Kumasi, Ghana and a Masters degree in Population Studies, from Regional Institute of Population Studies at University of Ghana. He also graduated and earned Masters degree in International Affairs with a major in Communication and Development at Ohio University. He earned his Ph.D in Instructional Design and Technology at Ohio University, USA.

Prof. Malcalm published and reviewed papers in reputable journals such as Sage, Emerald, Springer, Taylor and Francis among others. His research areas are Artificial Intelligence integration in organisations and education, ICT Integration in education, management, international development, gender and sustainable development issues
